Meet the Team!

17 days and counting down!  The excitement is building and plans are well underway.  Before we get into that, lets tell you a little about Team Virginia....

Team Virginia is made up of 33 Athletes, 11 Head Coaches, 3 Assistant Coaches, 1 Assistant Head of Delegation and 1 Head of Delegation. Team Virginia will be competing in Aquatics, Athletics, Bocce, Bowling, Golf, Powerlifting, Soccer and Tennis. Once there, we will be among 3,000 athletes and 1,000 coaches.  Team Virginia hails from every part of the Commonwealth.

Special Olympics Virginia is blogging!

For six days this summer, 33 Virginia athletes and 16 coaches will become Huskers!

Our athletes will swim, run, play soccer, roll bocce balls, golf, serve up some aces and lift hundreds of pounds at the Special Olympics USA National Games July 18-23 at the University of Nebraska and nearby venues. Special Olympics Virginia will be part of 3,000 athletes and 1,000 coaches from all over the US.

We invite you all to stay tuned as we introduce the team, let you know what we're up to pre-leaving, during and after the event, post schedules, update competition information and results and most important, share our pictures and memories with you so you can all be a part of the fun.
